Captain's Log, Christmas Break 2005, Day 1, Hour 22:
-Boredom sets in.
-Have decided to keep Captain's log out of novelty and badassitude of said log.
-Recieved several grades, suspect Quattrin is holding out on me. It doesnt take this long to add up scores. Planning mutiny?
-No recent pirate sitings, crew seems edgy nevertheless.
-Contemplating Christmas shopping.
-Time magazine features Landlubbers of the Year: Bill Gates, Bono, Melinda Gates. In that order. Curious. Sexism? Stupidity?
-Bono has cool glasses. Must get me some of those. But why does he always wear them? Cursed?

MY STUDENTS ARE INCREDIBLE, I LOVE LATIN AGAIN THANKS TO THEM!!
HERE'S ONE WAY TO MAKE JARED THE HAPPIEST TEACHER ON EARTH:
**Background Info: This student has been a bit of a handful since day 1. She walked into class asking "Can I transfer to Spanish?" and proceeded to insult me for days. She never even acted interested until we started doing these cool activities I thought up. Here's what she said tonight:
STUDENT (9:49:00 PM): sometimes.....you're just too nice to me for me to make an insult
STUDENT (9:52:25 PM): every1 likes u as a teacher so i figure i should too
STUDENT (10:16:34 PM): they should name the show after u

Well my name is Jared and this is what i think my grades are:
History: A-
Physics: A+
Latin: B+
English: B+/A-
Precalc: A-
Religion: A+
Art: A
TA: A
Im mad about Latin, she doesnt deserve to give me a grade for that excuse for a class. English is up for grabs because the final is tomorrow. It's on! Unless I ace it, I'll get that B+, but i'll shoot for the A-.
Math Final: Confusion. Good enough for the A-
Religion: Oh come on, how can you not get an A+ in Religion?
Latin: As Cian put it, F* that noise. Im so done with that crap.
Physics: It was pretty easy, but it wasnt anything like the review sheet, so a lot of people messed up. O well, im pretty sure i beat the curve easily.

okay, ive got a theoretical situation for you.
there's something different you have that kinda sets you apart. this thing helps you, but it also hurts you just as much. it's not something you can see, its something you feel. this thing is dangerous, if it decides to go wrong, it can severely destroy your life. There is, however, medication available to shut this thing down.
my question is this: Do you get professional help for it and become normal, or do you keep it, and risk everything?

life rocks, does it not? dont even bother answering that, I already know that it does, and even if you answered "no" I'm way too happy these days to be affected by bad vibes.
so i havent had a bad day in around a month and a half, and beyond that i cant remember exactly how my days were, so effectively ive got a spankin clean slate. It feels great, and special thanks to everyone, for always making me happy. I <3 Everyone.
so what shall i talk about?
prom is tomorrow. isnt that awesome? im pumped. gonna be a great time. Multas gratias to Liz, for teaching my ungainly self to swing dance. left right left right boy am i hyper. o well, i just cant wait.
current musings:
I think too much. I make things seem worse than they are when i think. In truth, everything rocks, i couldnt ask for a more perfect life, more perfect friends, a more perfect world. Im sorry if i dump anything on any of you, just try to remember its all in my head so dont take it too seriously. I need to remember that my imagination isnt reality. Whatever I imagine, reality has something 10x better in store for me. Reality is perfect, i love Reality.
heres a silly thing i thought of: Pets are people. Dogs are toddlers, Cats are teenagers, Turtles are old people. Think about it. lets start with dogs.
Dogs(Little Kids): Dogs are always happy, and they always have that silly look on their faces, but theyre just sooooo cute you wanna hug em. If you throw a ball near a dog, it'll follow it and bring it back to you. theyre bouncy. and, when it goes to the bathroom you've gotta clean it up for them. They're usually quiet, but if you do something wrong, they whine like crazy.
Cats(Angsty Teenagers): Cats never want you to see them happy. Like, you know that when there arent any humans around cats are just bouncing off the walls having a great time, but whenever there are people, the cat suddenly weighs 100 lbs more and has to lounge around the house. Cats are cute, but theyre very preoccupied with their cleanliness, and if you try to hug them, they hit you. If you throw a ball near a cat, it gives you that look of "Do you really expect me to get that? Gosh, why do i have to do everything for you? Cant you see I've got my own important things to do? Leave me alone!" Whereas, if you leave drugs (a.k.a. Catnip) in front of a cat, hello Energizer Bunny. You know cats are bouncy when you arent around, but when you are, they're like "Come on, stop it, you're embarrassing me!" When a Cat does its business, it does it in some obscure corner of the house when it's sure nobody else is around, as if someone might care. Cats dont make noise. You arent cool enough for them to talk to you.
Turtles(The Elderly): Theyre slow, theyre wrinkly, theyre wobbly. They dont talk, because they can hardly hear. Case Closed.
Wasnt that an amazing little brain storm? I thought so too.
so plenty more has happened today, but im obviously not thinking about that right now.
so just remember to have a great day every day, and no worries!

Well today i got up at noon and spent the last 4 hours fine tuning my golf swing at the driving range.

My dad is trying to improve my golf game and ive gotta say its actually working, which is very cool. Now i have to learn to play competitively.
So I've been talking to my friends dad, and he's really interested in seeing me go to Georgetow. How cool would that be? Me in the corridors of power....watch your back!

Well, work today was fun. Terry had great stories about backing his truck into a BMW and such. I finished up after 3 days work with $280. not too shabby at all.
So then we went straight to my grandparents' house for dinner. My uncle and his wife and kids were up from LA, so thats always a riot. My aunt gets the award for most random gift ever, she sewed us all rasta hats. Wow. Red and blue. You have got to see this, guys.
My little cousin Christopher is getting so talkative and so smart!! It was raining, and he wanted to go out on the deck. So i got up and opened the door, and he just stood there looking at me. so i stuck my hand out and he mimicked me. he laughed when he felt the rain, it was so cute. then i "dragged" him outside and he stood on the deck jumping up and down with his arms outstretched for like 5 minutes. Cute kid.
Well, i'm tired, and im gonna definitely be up late for a couple days. O well, its fun.
